About us
Originally owned by David Lloyd Goodfellow from Tichborne, this furniture store has had many homes in its century of community service. In the year of 1971, “Goodfellow Furniture” (as it was known at that time) planted its roots in the same place you will find it today: 51 Concession Street, Westport ON.
It is at this location Dale Lyons would begin learning the craft of sales and service. During this season of practical education, Dale and his wife Lois welcomed their first of three children, Gregory, and a few years following, ventured into the world of independent business ownership.
In the year 1984, Mr. and Mrs. Lyons would purchase “Goodfellow Furniture” and bestow upon it their surname, marking it as a family based company with traditional values of service and hospitality. Thus “Lyons Goodfellow Furniture” was born.
Dale hired quality staff, ensuring the care of each customer and raised his son with a shared passion for assisting others seeking the best quality products at the best possible prices.
In 1997 Greg married Deanne Lyons (formerly Steele) from Saskatchewan and the two of them joined the permanent team of staff now employed. Greg, having joined executive leadership began to bring a modern edge to Lyons Goodfellow’s merchandising and community presence which is a perspective he would lead with when taking the role of manager along with his wife in the mid 2010’s.
Since then, this thriving connection based company welcomes business from Belleville to Brockville, Kingston to Kanata with a demeanour of experienced confidence and attentive care. To this day Greg, Deanne their son Lucas and son in law Tyrel continue Lyons Goodfellow’s welcoming legacy of offering the highest quality product at the best possible prices.
